Abstract:

The true identity of Tityus championi Pocock 1898 (Scorpiones: Buthidae) Abstract: The present paper clarifies the taxonomic identity of Tityus championi Pocock 1898. This species is clearly distinct from Tityus asthenes Pocock 1893 (regarded as its senior synonym since 1988), and appears to be endemic to the southern watershed of the Talamanca Range, in the border region between Costa Rica and Panama.
