SUMMARY
The species was described by F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1904, based on a single female in the Godman and Salvin collection (BMNH/NHM), collected by H.H.Smith in "MEXICO, Omilteme in Guerrero 8000 feet".
The presence of this species in Central America is dubious. A single specimen was listed as this species by Banks, 1909, from Turrialba, Costa Rica. However, the original specimen was not examined, and no justification given. The identity of this later Costa Rican speciem as this species must be viewed with suspicion.
